The Amazing Power of Deliberate Intent

Author: Esther and Jerry Hicks

"So where you stand and how you feel right now equals your vibrational point of attraction. And if you are aware, you can tell by the way you feel how your perception of where you are, right now, matches, or does not match, the vibration of your Source.

If, right now, you are intent upon achieving the best match that you can with the vibration of your Source, then you will be reaching for, or feeling for, better and better-feeling thoughts - and as you find a better feeling thought, a felling of relief will be your experience."

Feeling Divine or Dropping the Call? Tune Your Spiritual Frequency

Let's talk about God, the Universe, your Higher Self, or whatever name you use for the big spiritual guide in the sky. You probably think of that connection as something you manage through prayer, meditation, or maybe just by trying not to be a terrible person. But what if the most important form of communication isn't what you say, but how you feel?

Consider this: your emotional state is a real-time indicator of how connected you are to your spiritual Source. Where you stand and how you feel right now is your "vibrational point of attraction." Your feelings are the crucial signal telling you if you're in sync with the divine wisdom and well-being that is your spiritual birthright.

When you feel good—inspired, joyful, at peace—you're getting a clear signal. You’re aligned with God. When you feel bad—anxious, angry, defeated—it’s not a punishment. It’s just static on the line, a sign that your current thoughts are out of tune with the frequency of your Source. The fix isn't to grovel or beg for forgiveness; it's to consciously reach for a better-feeling thought. Each step up that emotional ladder brings a wave of relief, which is the feeling of your connection coming back online.

God’s Dial Tone is a Good Vibe

Think of your spiritual Source as being in a constant state of love, clarity, and unconditional well-being. That’s the home frequency. It’s always broadcasting. You are the receiver, and your thoughts control the dial. When your thoughts are aligned with love, gratitude, and possibility, you tune right in. You feel that sense of peace and rightness. This is what people mean when they talk about being "in the flow" or "spirit-led."

When your thoughts are focused on fear, lack, and resentment, you've essentially turned the dial to a different station—one playing a 24/7 marathon of static and bad news. God hasn't gone anywhere. The loving broadcast is still there. You've just tuned yourself out of range.

Your emotions are the indicator on the radio telling you how close you are to the home frequency.

  • Feeling Joy, Love, Gratitude? You've got a crystal-clear signal. Five bars.

  • Feeling Contentment, Hope, Optimism? You're getting a strong signal. Things are clear.

  • Feeling Boredom, Pessimism, Frustration? The signal is getting weak. Static is creeping in.

  • Feeling Anger, Blame, Worry? You're losing the signal. It's mostly static now.

  • Feeling Fear, Despair, Powerlessness? You've completely lost the station. All you can hear is noise.

The "sin" isn't feeling bad; the only misstep is continuing to listen to the static when you have the power to change the channel.

How We Get Stuck on the Static Station

We don't choose to feel bad on purpose. We get locked into negative thought patterns, often without realizing it. We think we're just reacting to life, but we're actually creating a feedback loop that disconnects us from our spiritual guidance.

Imagine this scenario:

  1. You check your bank account and it's lower than you expected. Your first thought is, "I'm never going to get ahead." You feel a knot of anxiety in your stomach. You just changed the channel.

  2. Because you're anxious, you get into a silly argument with a loved one about nothing. Now you feel guilty and lonely. The static gets louder.

  3. You try to work, but you can't focus. All you can think about is your money problems and the argument. You feel overwhelmed and powerless. You are now fully tuned into the "Woe is Me" radio network.

At this point, trying to pray for a solution can feel like shouting into a hurricane. Your mind is so full of anxious noise that you can't hear the quiet, steady guidance that is always available. You’ve disconnected yourself from the very Source that can provide the comfort and clarity you need.

Tuning Back to the Divine Frequency, One Thought at a Time

The way back isn't a dramatic, overnight leap from despair to divine ecstasy. Trying to force it—"I feel terrible, but I should be grateful!"—is like trying to fix a radio by smacking it. It just creates more noise and feels completely inauthentic.

The path back to alignment is one of gentle, deliberate steps. It’s the art of reaching for the next best-feeling thought you can honestly find. It’s about seeking relief, not perfection.

Let’s apply this to our bank account crisis:

  • Lowest Vibration Thought:"I'm a financial failure. I'm doomed to be poor forever." (Feels like: A pit in your stomach. 1/10 on the hope scale).

  • Forced Positive Thought:"I am a money magnet! Abundance flows to me!" (Feels like: A lie. Your brain rejects it, and you feel worse. 0/10).

  • The Gentle Path of Re-Tuning:

  • Thought:"Okay, this number is scary. It’s okay to feel worried about this." (This validates your feeling instead of fighting it. The resistance lessens. Relief. You're at a 2/10).

    • Thought:"I've been in tight spots before, and I've always figured it out. It's never been as bad as I feared." (You're recalling your own resilience. This feels a bit more powerful. Relief. Now a 4/10).

    • Thought:"Panicking isn't going to solve this. Getting angry at myself won't help either. Maybe I can just take a deep breath." (You're choosing a more resourceful state over a reactive one. Relief. A solid 5/10).

    • Thought:"Alright, what is one small, practical thing I can do right now? I can review my spending from last week." (You've moved from powerless to proactive. This feels like agency. Relief. You’re at a 6/10).

You're not rich yet. You haven't solved the whole problem. But you have successfully changed the channel from panic to proactivity. You’ve quieted the static enough to start hearing guidance again—whether it comes as a creative idea, a helpful insight, or just a sense of calm resolve.

Practical Steps to Find God’s Station

Becoming a master of your own spiritual frequency is a practice. It requires awareness and intention.

1. Check Your Signal Often

Pause a few times a day and simply ask, "How do I feel?" This is your spiritual check-in. Don't judge the answer. Just notice it. Are you tuned in, or are you listening to static? Awareness is the first step to changing the dial.

2. Look for the Better-Feeling Thought

When you catch yourself in a negative spiral, don't try to leap to happiness. Just ask, "What's a thought that feels slightly better than this one?" Maybe it's shifting blame from yourself to the situation. Maybe it's remembering that this too shall pass. Find the smallest step up the emotional ladder. The feeling of relief is your sign that you're moving in the right direction.

3. Make a List of High-Vibe Thoughts

What thoughts, memories, or ideas reliably connect you to a feeling of love and peace? Is it the memory of a beautiful sunset? Thinking about a person you love unconditionally? The feeling of gratitude for your pet? Keep this list handy. When you're lost in static, intentionally focusing on one of these for 60 seconds can be enough to reboot your signal.

4. Turn Complaining into a Question

Complaining is a prayer for more of what you don't want. It solidifies your connection to the static. The next time you want to complain, transform it into a question for your Source.

  • Instead of: "No one appreciates me."

  • Ask: "God, show me how I am appreciated," or "What can I do to feel more valued?"
This shifts you from a victim into a co-creator, opening you up to receive an answer.

You Are the Keeper of Your Connection

Your connection to God, to your spiritual Source, is not something you have to earn or deserve. It is constant and unconditional. However, your experience of that connection is entirely up to you. It's determined by the frequency you choose to tune into with your thoughts.

Your feelings are the most sacred and reliable form of guidance you have. They are the divine indicator telling you when you're aligned with love and when you've strayed into fear. By learning to honor this guidance system and consciously choosing thoughts that bring relief, you can deliberately tune yourself back to the home frequency of well-being. The clear, loving signal is always broadcasting. Are you ready to tune in?
