The Power of Awareness

Author: Neville

"It is 'I AM's' concept of itself that determines the form and scenery of its existence. Everything depends upon its attitude towards itself; That which it will not affirm as true of itself cannot awaken in its world. That is, your concept of yourself, such as 'I am strong,' 'I am secure,' 'I am loved,' determines the world in which you live. In other words, when you say 'I am a man, I am a father, I am an American,' you are not defining different 'I AM's;' you are defining different concepts or arrangements of the one cause-substance - the one 'I AM.' Even in the phenomena of nature, if the tree were to articulate, it would say 'I am a tree, an apple tree, a fruitful tree.'

When you know that consciousness is the one and only reality - conceiving itself to be something good, bad, or indifferent, and becoming that which it conceived itself to be - you are free from the tyranny of second causes, free from the belief that there are causes outside of your own mind that can affect your life."

I Am... Whatever I Say I Am (And So Are You)

Let’s get real: your life is basically a giant “Choose Your Own Adventure” book, and the plot is determined by two little words—I am. That’s right, those two syllables are the ultimate power move, shaping your reality faster than you can say, “I am tired of this nonsense.” Spoiler alert: if you keep saying that, you’ll stay tired. Forever.

Here’s the deal: whatever you attach to “I am” becomes your truth. Say “I am strong,” and you start flexing those metaphorical (or literal) muscles. Say “I am loved,” and suddenly you’re radiating main-character energy. But if you’re out here saying “I am unlucky” or “I am doomed to always pick the slowest checkout line,” guess what? The universe is like, “Cool, let’s make that happen.” Your concept of yourself is the script, and reality is just following your lead.

Even nature gets it. If a tree could talk, it wouldn’t be out here saying, “I am just a sad little sapling.” No, it’d be like, “I am a majestic apple tree, and you’re welcome for the fruit.” Trees don’t have identity crises, so why should you?

The real kicker? There are no “second causes.” That means nothing outside of you is pulling the strings. Not your boss, not the economy, not Mercury in retrograde. It’s all you, baby. Your consciousness is the one and only reality, and it’s busy becoming whatever you believe it to be. So, if you’re walking around thinking, “I am stuck,” you’re basically handing your life a pair of cement shoes. But if you flip the script to “I am capable,” “I am thriving,” or even “I am figuring it out,” you’re giving yourself a fighting chance.

Now, I know what you’re thinking: “This sounds like a lot of responsibility.” And yeah, it is. But it’s also incredibly freeing. Once you realize that your “I am” is the ultimate cause, you can stop blaming your circumstances and start creating them. You’re not at the mercy of some cosmic vending machine that only dispenses bad luck. You’re the one stocking the machine.

So, what’s your “I am” today? Choose wisely, because those two little words are the architects of your existence. And if you’re not sure where to start, try this: “I am awesome, and I’ve got this.” Because honestly, you do.
